The head of the Servant of the People faction, Davyd Arakhamia, said that a working group is being formed in the Verkhovna Rada to quickly work on the issue of holding possible elections of the President of Ukraine during martial law. He published a corresponding post on his Telegram channel.
Arakhamia noted that not only MPs, but also representatives of other structures related to the election process are involved in the discussion.
"The discussion will be held on the basis of the specialized Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning, with the involvement of representatives of all factions and groups of the parliament, the Central Election Commission, as well as public organizations dealing with election issues," the MP wrote.
Arakhamia noted that the date and time of the meeting will be announced in the near future, and the meeting will be held in an open format with the involvement of the press.
Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission Serhii Dubovyk stated that the next elections, taking into account all related expenses, could cost Ukraine approximately UAH 20 billion.
Also, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated the day before that elections in Ukraine could be held when there is security for their holding.
