Polish President Karol Nawrocki admitted that Ukraine could receive Polish MiG-29 fighters in exchange for providing Warsaw with anti-drone technology.

He said this at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, European Pravda reports.

According to Nawrocki, his duty is to take care of the interests of Polish soldiers. Now the army of his country is in a certain dependence, and the meeting with Zelenskyy is proof of this.

"We are looking for a symmetrical, strategic partnership. This exchange of MiGs for anti-drone systems does not contradict our policy. And after formal issues, I think this issue will be resolved," Nawrocki said.

In his turn, Zelenskyy noted that in the conditions of daily war, in which Ukraine has been living for several years, every pilot is a deficit. Training specialists takes a lot of time.

The President emphasized that the issue is not that Ukraine does not have F-16 fighters. But in order to get pilots, it is necessary to remove current specialists, take them from the battlefield and send them abroad for eight months or a year and a half for training

"The only difference between the F-16 and the MiG for us is not to lose our pilot. Because there is no need to study for the MiG, our people are trained. This was the request. The issue is not a shortage of airplanes, the issue is a shortage of pilots," Zelenskyy explained

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 10, the Polish General Staff said that Warsaw would negotiate with Kyiv on the transfer of MiG-29 fighters in exchange for unmanned and missile technologies.

In September of this year, The War Zone wrote that Ukraine probably received several MiG-29 fighters that were previously in service with the Azerbaijani Armed Forces.
