According to the calculations of the National Scientific Center "Institute of Agrarian Economics", the New Year's table-2026 will cost Ukrainians approximately UAH 3,980
This is stated in the center's message, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The message states that the Institute's scientists calculated the cost of the New Year's table-2026 at the average prices of Ukrainian supermarkets as of mid-December 2025.
According to their calculations, the New Year's menu of dishes that are traditional for the table of an average family: salads, meat and fish products, vegetables, fruits, bakery and confectionery products, drinks, etc. for a family of 4 people will be about UAH 3,980, that is, 10.7% more expensive than last year.
According to scientists' calculations, the Olivier salad (3 kg of products of the traditional recipe) will cost UAH 406.87 - 5.8% more than during the celebration of the New Year 2025.
The most expensive ingredient of the dish this year was sausage - UAH 180 for 0.5 kg (price increase of 12.5% depending on the manufacturer).
Vegetables have become significantly cheaper.
The price of potatoes this year has decreased compared to last year by 57.6%: for 580 g we will pay 8.50 hryvnias.
Two carrots (280 g) will cost UAH 3.18 (-62.3%), 2 onions (230 g) - UAH 1.75 (-58.0%).
Prices for the remaining components of the festive salad have increased: 6 pcs. chicken eggs (360 g) cost UAH 49.08 (+4.8%), green peas - UAH 62.50 for 0.5 kg (+11.5%), canned cucumbers - UAH 43.92 for 200 g (+14.9%).
Dressing a salad with mayonnaise (350 g) will cost UAH 57.99 (+14.3%).
Due to a significant decrease in vegetable prices this year, the cost of the "Herring under a fur coat" salad (1.570 kg of products) is UAH 174.83.
This will only exceed last year's figure of UAH 168.20 by 4.0%.
The lion's share of the cost of the traditional salad will be herring fillet - UAH 135 for 0.5 kg (+13.4%). Mayonnaise (180 g) will cost UAH 29.82.
Vegetable prices have more than halved compared to last year.
So, for 2 potatoes (280 g) you need to pay UAH 4.10 (-57.6%), 1 carrot (190 g) - UAH 2.16 (-62.3%), 1 beet (250 g) - UAH 2.46 (-49.4%), 1 onion (170 g) - UAH 1.29 (-58.0%).
Expenditures on meat products have increased by 23% over the year.
For 350 g of raw smoked sausage "Braunshveyzka" we will pay UAH 410 (22% more compared to 2024 prices), half a kilogram of baked bacon - UAH 276 (+21%), for a kilogram of pork knuckle (fresh) - UAH 339 (+15%).
Poultry meat has experienced the greatest price increase as of the end of 2025, but remains the cheapest among meat types.
For 1 kg of fresh chicken fillet, you will have to pay an average of UAH 244 (a 40% increase in price per year).
In total, the cost of 2,850 kg of meat products on the New Year's table will be UAH 1,269.
Herring (0.5 kg fillet), traditional for the Ukrainian table, will cost UAH 135.
Dairy products have also increased in price this year.
Hard cheese (300 g) will cost UAH 176 (+19%), and a pack of butter (200 g) - UAH 118 (+14%).
The cost of vegetables on the New Year's table will be UAH 473 on average - 5% less than last year's price.
Potatoes (2 kg) will cost UAH 29 this year (-58%), champignon mushrooms (1 kg) - UAH 140 (-11%), sweet peppers (0.5 kg) - UAH 128 (+29%), fresh cucumbers (0.5 kg) - UAH 49 (-11%), fresh tomatoes (1 kg) - UAH 127 (+6%).
Fruits on the festive table will cost UAH 200 (a 22% decrease in price).
We will pay UAH 116 for 2 kg of tangerines, UAH 62 for 1 kg of bananas on average, 200 g of lemons - UAH 22.
White bread will cost UAH 35 (+25%).
Chocolates - an average of UAH 326 per 1 kg (+16%).
A bottle of Artemivske champagne (0.75 l) will cost UAH 239.
A little more - UAH 278 - will have to be paid for a bottle (0.5 l) of 5-year-old Shabo brandy.
The price increase is, respectively, 14% and 6%.
Soft drinks for the festive table will cost UAH 149 (a 34% increase in price).
For the juice "Nash Sik" multivitamin with pulp 950 ml you will have to pay UAH 61.90 (+57%), for the drink "Coca-Cola" (1.75 l) - UAH 60.80 (+26%), for the mineral water "Morshynska" (1.5 l) - UAH 26.38 (+14%).
Thus, the cost of a budget version of the New Year's table for the average Ukrainian will be UAH 3,980 (+10.7%).
Families who can afford to buy delicacies will have to pay an additional UAH 813.
A jar of red caviar (100 g), depending on the manufacturer, will cost an average of UAH 469, and 180 g of red fish - UAH 344.
Thus, the cost of a New Year's table with delicacies will be UAH 4,793 (+10.6%).
