President Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Kupiansk, Kharkiv Region, which, as the aggressor country of russia has repeatedly stated, is allegedly surrounded by russian troops.
The video was posted by the President on his official Telegram channel on Friday, December 12.
"The Kupiansk axis today, our soldiers who are achieving results for Ukraine here. Many Russians talked about Kupiansk - we can see that. I was there and congratulated the guys. I thank every unit, everyone who fights here, everyone who destroys the occupier," Zelenskyy wrote.
The President emphasized that today it is extremely important to achieve results at the front so that Ukraine can achieve results in diplomacy.
"This is exactly how it works: all our strong positions inside the country are strong positions in the conversation about ending the war," the head of state added.
Earlier today, the DeepState analytical project reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces cleared the northwestern part of Kupiansk and several neighboring villages. At the same time, some russian soldiers were blocked in the central part of the city.
Ukrainian troops managed to block the logistics of the occupiers, who had earlier managed to break through to the city. After that, search and strike operations aimed at eliminating the russians began, and they are still ongoing.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on December 1, President Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian military has almost completely completed the cleanup in Kupiansk.
At the end of October, russian dictator vladimir putin claimed that the russian army had allegedly surrounded Ukrainian forces in Kupiansk.
