The Ministry of Economy is finalizing the draft of a new digitalized Labor Code and preparing to submit it to the Cabinet of Ministers. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Economy, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The Ministry of Economy is finalizing the draft of the new Labor Code, which has passed all the necessary formats of discussion and approval - with employers, trade unions, the expert community and international partners. As a result of the consultations, the document was finalized and is now being prepared for submission to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, after which it will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada," said Tetiana Berezhna, Vice Prime Minister for Humanitarian Policy and Minister of Culture.
Berezhna noted that this is an important step for the formation of a modern and understandable framework for labor relations in Ukraine.
According to the report, the draft of the new Labor Code systematically modernizes the regulation of labor relations, it provides for the digitalization of key procedures, introduces a transparent mechanism for determining the minimum wage, expands the list of types of labor contracts and strengthens the protection of workers, including representatives of vulnerable groups.
It is noted that the document enshrines a balanced approach to the rights and obligations of employees and employers, introduces a risk-based model of labor inspection and implements the main EU directives in the field of labor.
Among the key benefits of the draft law, the Ministry of Economy names clear rules for flexible forms of employment (remote work, flexible working hours, part-time work), better protection for employees with family responsibilities, veterans and people with disabilities, unified requirements for recording working conditions in electronic form, as well as more predictable inspection procedures for employers.
It is also noted that special attention is paid to preventing undeclared labor, regulating new employment models and simplifying business interaction with state supervisory authorities.
"The new Labor Code should become the legal basis for the implementation of the draft Employment Strategy and Labor Market Reform "Obrii". It combines European standards of employee protection with the flexibility needed by businesses and creates the preconditions for expanding formal employment, increasing labor productivity and better protecting human rights in Ukraine, including labor rights," said Deputy Minister of Economy Daria Marchak.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the draft of the new Labor Code developed by the Ministry of Economy as of January provided for the permission of employers to install video surveillance of their employees.
