Defense audit to start in late December - Svyrydenko

A comprehensive audit of the defense sector will begin at the end of December. According to Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, the audit of defense enterprises is scheduled for December 20th. She reported this based on the results of the report of the Deputy Head of the State Audit Service Yulia Solianik on the preparation for conducting audits of energy and defense enterprises.

A large-scale audit is currently underway at Energoatom national nuclear power generating company. According to Svyrydenko, the audits have already covered 10 branches of the company.

"We expect interim results at the end of December," she said.

The audits will cover key defense structures. The audit will concern 22 enterprises of JSC Ukrainian Defense Industry, as well as two state-owned enterprises of the Ministry of Defense: Defense Procurement Agency and State Rear Operator. The activities for the period 2022-2025 will be audited, and the first results are expected in January.

"The Deputy Head of the State Audit Service also reported on the results of monitoring defense procurements conducted by state-owned enterprises of the Ministry of Defense Defense Procurement Agency and State Rear Operator for the period 2024-2025. The monitoring process revealed a number of imperfections in the organization and conduct of procurements. She instructed the relevant bodies to make changes to eliminate them," Svyrydenko said.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko said that in order to restore trust around Energoatom national nuclear power generating company, it is necessary to hold a competition for the supervisory board not through a shortened, but through a full and open, competitive procedure, in accordance with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) standards, provided for all strategic Ukrainian state-owned enterprises.
