On the evening of Monday, December 8, russian troops carried out a massive attack on energy infrastructure facilities in Sumy. This was reported by the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov.
It is noted that in just half an hour, the russians directed more than a dozen attack drones at the city. As a result of the shelling, Sumy was completely left without electricity.
"The Sumy community is under a massive attack by enemy UAVs on energy infrastructure facilities. There is no electricity supply in Sumy, part of the critical infrastructure is operating on backup power sources. As soon as the security situation allows, specialists will begin to inspect the damage and restore it," Hryhorov said.
Recall that on December 8, russian strikes on energy infrastructure led to power outages for consumers in the Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy and Chernihiv Regions.
The Ministry of Energy also previously reported on the consequences of russian strikes on electricity generation, distribution, and transmission facilities.
