The city of Okhtyrka in the Sumy Region was attacked by russian attack drones. Several enemy UAVs hit a multi-storey residential building at once, causing significant damage to the roof and walls. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU).
As a result of the hit, a fire broke out, which engulfed apartments from the second to fifth floors.
Rescuers immediately began extinguishing the fire and simultaneously evacuated residents. In total, 35 people were evacuated from the damaged building. In addition, seven people, including one child, needed the help of rescuers to unblock blocked or damaged apartments.
Due to the threat of repeated attacks, work had to be temporarily suspended.
"Despite all the difficulties, the fire centers have been eliminated. The premises have been inspected. No people have been found under the rubble. The analysis of damaged structures is underway," the State Emergency Service reported.
Information on the number of injured is being clarified. Citizens are being provided with all necessary assistance and support.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the city of Kramatorsk in the Donetsk Region has been completely cut off from electricity as a result of a strike carried out by drones.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy reported on the consequences of russian strikes on electricity generation, distribution and transmission facilities.
