Member of Parliament Anna Skorokhod demanded a USD 250,000 bribe from an entrepreneur for imposing NSDC sanctions on a company, one of his competitors.
The Ukrainian News agency was informed about this by the SAPO.
Under the procedural guidance of the SAPO prosecutor, NABU detectives jointly with the SSU exposed a Member of Parliament who organized the activities of a criminal group, becoming a "guarantor" of an agreement on the application of NSDC sanctions against a competitor company.
It has been established that the suspects offered the entrepreneur USD 250,000 to resolve the issue of imposing sanctions against a competitor company. They convinced that they had the ability to ensure the adoption of sanctions decisions through government officials, including the National Security and Defense Council. MP Skorokhod was the "guarantor" of such a decision.
After paying a part of the money, namely USD 125,000 , which was transferred through the issuance of loan receipts, the "client" received assurances that the money would be received by NSDC officials. The suspects also provided a photo of the sanctions list attachment as evidence of their actions.
Despite the provision of an undue benefit, the actual transfer of funds to the NSDC officials did not take place and, accordingly, the necessary decision on sanctions was not made. Currently, all the exposed persons have been served a notice of suspicion of committing a crime under Part 4 of Article 27, Part 4 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This includes Skorokhod.
As the Ukrainian News agency previously reported, the SSU, NABU and SAPO exposed an organized group headed by the MP in Kyiv. Currently, searches are being conducted. Skorokhod became rich, and her ex-husband, a fugitive russian, started making money on shelters in Ukraine.
