MP Anna Skorokhod Accuses Ukrainian Armed Forces Command of “Soviet Mentality,” Nepotism, and Criminal Orders

Ukrainian Member of Parliament Anna Skorokhod has made a high-profile statement about systemic problems within the Armed Forces of Ukraine, accusing certain high-ranking military officials of nepotism, covering up misconduct, and disregarding the lives of service members.

According to her, one example is the appointment of relatives of generals to senior positions in combat brigades without proper training or experience. In particular, Skorokhod mentioned the 27-year-old commander of the 34th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade, who, she claims, is related to the Navy leadership and received his promotion "thanks to family ties."

Anna Skorokhod wrote about this in detail on social networks.

Another case involves the 39th Brigade, where the commander of the Marine Corps, Major General Dmytro Delyatytskyi, appointed his relative — Colonel Oleksandr Tonenchuk — as brigade commander. According to the MP, under his leadership, military units suffered significant losses, and the commander allegedly issued "criminal orders" and falsified documents.

An internal investigation conducted within the corps found no violations and labeled Skorokhod's public statements as "Russian disinformation." However, instead of being held accountable, Tonenchuk was transferred to command the 36th Brigade, she said.

Skorokhod stressed that such cases demoralize the military and undermine the army's combat capability:

"While rear rats and top commanders play the role of gods and think the war will write everything off, and the authorities support and cover it up — Ukraine is losing the war," she stated.

At the same time, the MP expressed gratitude to "true officers and warriors" for their loyalty and for fighting not only the external enemy but also internal problems within the army.
