From January 1, 2026, it is planned to merge the state enterprise State Operator For Non-Lethal Acquisition (DOT) and the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) into one enterprise. This was announced by Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"On the instructions of the President of Ukraine, we are moving as quickly as possible towards the creation and renewal of supervisory boards. From January 1, it is planned to merge the State Operator For Non-Lethal Acquisition and the Defense Procurement Agency into one enterprise, where a new supervisory board will be created," he said.
Also, according to him, appointments to vacant positions in the supervisory board of JSC Ukroboronprom and other enterprises are planned in the near future.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense intends to maximally corporatize state-owned companies and transfer professional managers to management. In particular, according to him, out of 90 state-owned enterprises that were subordinate to the Ministry of Defense, 14 have already been transferred to the State Property Fund, 11 are in the process of being transferred, and another 4 are being transferred to JSC Ukroboronprom.
As Ukrainian News Agency reported, earlier on Wednesday, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that today the powers of the supervisory boards of major state-owned energy companies will be terminated, and they should also be urgently restarted in the defense sector.
In November, against the backdrop of a corruption scandal in the energy sector, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision to restart Energoatom, in particular, to early terminate the powers of the company's supervisory board.
