Today, the powers of the supervisory boards of the main state-owned energy companies will be terminated, they should be reset in the defense sector as well, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on the Telegram channel, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We discussed personnel reset in the energy sector with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. The pace of transformation is not bad and should ensure full transparency of management. In particular, today, the powers of a significant part of the composition of the supervisory boards of the main state-owned energy companies will be terminated: Centrenergo, GTS Operator, Market Operator, Ukrainian Distribution Networks, Energy Company of Ukraine," he said.
Zelenskyy noted that new members of the supervisory boards of energy companies should be appointed in December in accordance with a clear, fair procedure.
He also announced that he had instructed Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal to urgently restart the supervisory boards in the defense sector as well.
"It is through the supervisory boards that management and control of internal processes in companies takes place, and this must be ensured one hundred percent," he noted.
Zelenskyy instructed Svyrydenko to inform Ukraine's main partners about the measures that the Cabinet of Ministers is taking to guarantee trust in Ukraine and Ukrainian institutions.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, in November, against the backdrop of a corruption scandal in the energy sector, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a decision to restart Energoatom, in particular, to early terminate the powers of the company's supervisory board.
