Former head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak tried to achieve the resignation of the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk a week before his dismissal.

This is reported by the publication of Ukrainska Pravda in the article "Ali Baba and Forty Statesmen. How Yermak Lost the Chair on the Right and Did Not Receive a Suspicion".

According to the publication, while detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and prosecutors of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office were searching Yermak's apartment, intense political discussions were taking place in his office.

Operation Midas, which was supposed to show institutional independence during the war, actually demonstrated something else - a blow to a figure who for a long time personified the center of the power vertical, inevitably affects the President himself.

The material states that at 9 a.m. on November 28, Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, SSU Head Vasyl Maliuk, NABU Director Semen Kryvonos, and SAPO Head Oleksandr Klymenko arrived at the President's Office.

It is noted that Maliuk's participation in this meeting was not accidental.

"As the UP managed to find out, Yermak had been trying to achieve the resignation of the SSU head all last week before his dismissal, because he allegedly "overlooked" Operation Midas and did not protect him," writes Ukrainska Pravda.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the former head of the President's Office Andrii Yermak, after submitting his resignation, complained about the lack of support and announced that he was going to the front.
