US President Donald Trump said he had sent his special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, to moscow to agree on a "peace plan" to end the war in Ukraine.

Trump announced this on his page on the social network Truth Social on Tuesday, November 25.

According to him, the initial 28-point "peace plan" was finalized with additional proposals from both sides. It has only a few controversial points left.

Trump said he had instructed Witkoff to travel to moscow to meet with russian dictator vladimir putin "in the hope of finalizing the plan." At the same time, US Secretary of the Army Daniel Driscoll will travel to Ukraine.

"I look forward to meeting with President Zelenskyy and President Putin in the near future, but only when an agreement to end this war is finalized or in the final stages," Trump wrote.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, yesterday, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, said that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is ready to meet with Trump on Thanksgiving Day to negotiate an end to the war.

Also yesterday, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that Europe will support the US "peace plan" and will not create its own alternative.
