NABU says they did not monitor Mindich's phone and movements before fleeing Ukraine

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) said they did not monitor businessman Tymur Mindich's mobile phone and his movements before leaving Ukraine.

This was stated by NABU Director Semen Kryvonos at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Anti-Corruption Policy, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

"We did not monitor his phone and his movements," Kryvonos said. According to him, NABU learned that Mindich crossed the border only after the fact.

"We learned only after the fact when he crossed the border," the NABU director said. He also added that Mindich's border crossing took much less time than if Kryvonos had crossed the border in person.

According to NABU, Mindich crossed the border in the Lviv Region.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to the NABU and SAPO, the main area of the suspects' activities was the systematic receipt of illegal benefits from Energoatom's counterparties in the amount of 10% to 15% of the value of contracts. Within the framework of the case, searches were carried out, in particular, at the home of businessman and co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio, Tymur Mindich. Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he had not communicated with the co-owner of Kvartal-95, Tymur Mindich, since the beginning of the investigation into corruption schemes in the energy sector. Zelenskyy also signed a decree on the introduction of sanctions against Tymur Mindich and Oleksandr Tsukerman, defendants in the case of the corruption scheme at Energoatom. Both, according to the decree, are citizens of Israel.
