Ukraine expects to organize a visit by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to the US at the earliest possible date in November to complete the final stages and reach an agreement with US President Donald Trump on the peace plan. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov announced this on Facebook, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We expect to organize a visit by the President of Ukraine to the US at the earliest possible date in November to complete the final stages and reach an agreement with President Trump," he said.
Umerov noted that Ukraine appreciates the productive and constructive meetings in Geneva (Switzerland) between the Ukrainian and American delegations, as well as Trump's continued efforts to end the war.
"Our delegations have reached a common understanding on the key terms of the agreement discussed in Geneva. Now we count on the support of our European partners in further steps," he noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Ukraine and the United States prepared an updated and revised framework document on peace following the talks in Geneva on November 23.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Heorhiy Tykhyi reported that during the talks, the American and Ukrainian delegations discussed the peace plan "point by point", the most sensitive of which will be raised at the level of the presidents of Ukraine and the United States.
The media, citing sources in the White House, reported that a meeting of the Presidents of the United States and Ukraine in connection with discussions of the US "peace plan" to end the war is not scheduled this week.
