Particularly sensitive points of peace plan will be discussed by Zelenskyy and Trump - Foreign Ministry

The spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi, reported that during the negotiations, the American and Ukrainian delegations discussed the peace plan "point by point". The most sensitive of them will be raised at the level of Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Donald Trump.

He said this in a comment to Ukrinform.

"Further work will still be done. The updated framework text already exists, but work will continue on a number of points, and particularly sensitive ones will be raised at the level of the Presidents of Ukraine and the United States. It is very good that the delegation was able to directly discuss these reservations. And it was a constructive, result-oriented conversation," he reported.

The spokesman noted that Ukraine had cautions on a number of points, and the American side "hears them".

"We need real peace and a guarantee that this aggression will not be repeated even after peace is achieved. What is very important for us? That the American side hears the Ukrainian positions and accepts them. We had certain reservations there on a number of points. The American side accepts these reservations and hears them," he said.

At the same time, Tykhyi refused to specify which points of the plan Ukraine had reservations about, but assured that the delegations at the negotiations "went through point by point."

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, US President Donald Trump admitted that "something good" could happen in the settlement of the russian-Ukrainian war after negotiations between the US and Ukrainian delegations in Geneva.

Let us recall that the so-called US "peace plan" to end the war in Ukraine was developed in October of this year. Donald Trump did not know about it until the last moment. Later, Axios reported that the document consists of 28 points and contains russia's maximalist demands on Ukraine, which it has been making since 2022.

Ukraine and the United States, following the results of negotiations in Geneva on November 23, prepared an updated and revised framework document for peace.

On November 23, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced changes to the US "peace plan" to end the war in Ukraine following a meeting with Ukrainian officials.

Meanwhile, a US official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Washington Post that US President Donald Trump was not "too involved" in the details of the peace plan for the russian-Ukrainian war.
