Ukraine and US prepared updated framework document for peace - joint statement after talks in Geneva

Ukraine and the United States, following the talks in Geneva on November 23, have prepared an updated and revised framework document for peace. This is announced in the joint statement of the countries, which is published on the websites of the Office of the President of Ukraine and the White House.

Thus, the statement states that on November 23, representatives of the United States and Ukraine met in Geneva to discuss the American peace proposal. It is noted that the negotiations were constructive, focused and full of mutual respect, which emphasized the common commitment to achieving a just and lasting peace. Both sides also recognized the consultations as extremely productive.

"The discussions demonstrated significant progress in agreeing positions and defining clear next steps. The parties reaffirmed that any future agreement must fully respect Ukraine's sovereignty and ensure a sustainable and just peace. As a result of the negotiations, the parties prepared an updated and revised framework document for peace," the statement said.

During the negotiations, the Ukrainian delegation once again expressed its gratitude to the United States, and in particular to President Donald J. Trump personally, "for their unwavering commitment and tireless efforts to end the war and save lives."

Ukraine and the United States also agreed to continue intensive work on joint proposals in the coming days. They will also maintain close contact with European partners as the process moves forward.

In addition, the statement emphasizes that final decisions on this framework document will be made by the presidents of Ukraine and the United States.

"Both sides confirmed their readiness to continue working together to achieve a peace that will guarantee Ukraine security, stability, and recovery," the document summarizes.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 19, Axios reported, citing sources, that the United States and russia had jointly developed a "peace plan" to end the war in Ukraine. The document consists of 28 points and contains russia's maximalist demands, which it has been making since 2022. The White House said that President Trump is aware of the plan and supports it.
