The plan for ending the war between Ukraine and the aggressor country russia, drafted by the United States, was originally partially written in russian.
The correspondent of the British edition of The Guardian Luke Harding has reported this.
Harding drew attention to the fact that the third paragraph of the original document reads: "It is expected that Russia will not invade neighbouring countries and Nato will not expand further."
According to him, "It is expected" is an "clunky passive construction" in English.
"The Russian version – ожидается or ozhidayetsya – makes more sense and is a familiar verb form," Harding wrote.
The journalist added that the text of the peace plan contains other russisms. These are the words "ambiguities" and "to enshrine."
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 19, the American publication Axios wrote, citing sources, that the United States is consulting with russia in the process of developing a plan to end the war in Ukraine.
The very next day, on November 20, Axios published the text of the peace plan. It consists of 28 points and contains russia's maximalist demands, which it has been putting forward since 2022.
Also, on November 20, the White House said that US President Donald Trump knows about the peace plan and supports it.
