United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that any plan to end the war between Ukraine and the aggressor country russia must comply with UN resolutions that support the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Guterres made the statement today, November 21, The Guardian writes with reference to AFP agency.
According to him, for the UN, a peaceful settlement in Ukraine must comply with General Assembly resolutions, which clearly state that the territorial integrity of Ukraine must be respected.
Guterres added that his words refer to what has been published by the media. The United States or any other organization has not officially presented a peace plan for Ukraine.
The US offered Ukraine to give up some territories
Last Wednesday, November 19, Axios reported, citing its own sources, that the United States, in consultation with russia, developed a plan to end the war in Ukraine.
Later, the publication published the text of the peace plan. The document consists of 28 points, one of which states that Ukraine will have to give up the territories of the Luhansk and Donetsk Regions. Also, the aggressor country will retain control over Crimea and the occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Regions.
According to Reuters, the United States threatened Ukraine with a stop to arms supplies if Kyiv does not sign a peace plan by November 27.
