Zelenskyy on Dignity and Freedom Day honors memory of Heavenly Hundred Heroes

On Dignity and Freedom Day, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska honored the memory of Ukrainians who were killed during the Revolution of Dignity. This was announced by the Office of the President, Ukrainian News Agency reports.

According to the report, they installed lamps at the cross on the Alley of Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

Zelenskyy noted in his Telegram channel that Dignity and Freedom Day is, first of all, for Ukrainians, a celebration of the price of independence for Ukraine and how many forces are at the heart of real sovereignty.

"Today we remember all those who at different times fought for the right of Ukraine to be a free, independent, strong state and who became a symbol of human dignity and justice for the world. With a neighbor like russia, protecting one's own dignity, freedom and independence is an extremely difficult task, but without this the Ukrainian people cannot be saved," he noted.

Zelenskyy stressed that Ukrainians today do not give up, defend things of principle and, thanks to their strength, change the course of history so that Ukraine lives and develops.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on November 21, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Dignity and Freedom - a solemn date introduced by presidential decree in 2014 in honor of the beginning of two revolutions: the Orange Revolution (started on November 22, 2004) and the Revolution of Dignity (the action of students and public activists began on November 21, 2013) to emphasize the importance of public resistance, which determined the further development of the state.
