Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Rustem Umerov returned to Ukraine on November 20 from a business trip. This is stated in the message of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council on Telegram, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"NSDC Secretary Rustem Umerov returned to Ukraine on November 20 from a business trip," the statement said.
It is noted that this is the twelfth business trip of the NSDC Secretary since his appointment, and such trips are a regular part of his official activities.
"Spreading false information about 'departure' or 'refusal to return' is an example of manipulative information attempts to discredit the Ukrainian leadership and sow distrust in society," the CCD noted.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on November 19, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Turkey, the delegation included the head of the Presidential Office Andrii Yermak, and Zelenskyy was met by Turkish officials in Ankara, as well as the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov, who went on a business trip to Turkey the day before.
In recent days, information has been circulating online that Umerov allegedly went abroad and refuses to return to Ukraine amid a corruption scandal in the energy sector.
