The aggressor country of russia has once again attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Because of this, emergency power outages were introduced in a number of regions on Wednesday, November 19. This is stated in the message of the Ministry of Energy.
The Ministry of Energy emphasized that when the security situation allows, rescuers and power engineers will begin eliminating the consequences of the attack in order to restore power supply in the regions as soon as possible.
Emergency power outages will be canceled after the situation in the power system stabilizes.
"We call on everyone to remain calm and follow official information," the Ministry of Energy added.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, according to Vitalii Zaichenko, Chairman of the Board of NEC Ukrenergo, the power outages may last throughout the winter. He stressed that although changes in the energy system may occur in a positive direction due to the restoration of facilities, we must prepare for the worst. We need to save energy resources, which we do not have in abundance. As in previous years, the determining factor remains the russian shelling, the time and intensity of which cannot be predicted, Zaichenko stressed.
Earlier, Vitalii Zaichenko stated that the Ukrainian energy system is operating with increased load due to the increase in electricity consumption and advised to wear sweaters.
