European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius said that battle-hardened Ukrainian soldiers can strengthen the defense capabilities of Lithuania and other eastern EU member states bordering russia after the end of hostilities. He said this during a speech at the international conference "Defending Baltics 2025" in Vilnius, LRT reports.

He emphasized that the combat experience of the Ukrainian military will be a key element in strengthening NATO's northeastern flank once peace comes.

"It will be good  that the battle-tested Ukrainian army, after peace has been established in Ukraine, would be ready to be present in all the countries of our frontier region, starting from the Baltic region, and in Lithuania, next to the German brigade and rotating US battalions," he said.

In addition, the European Commissioner said that the russian army has strengthened compared to February 2022 and is estimated to be able to control up to 5 million drones.

"We would be facing a Russian army that is capable of controlling four to five million drones per year. No army on the European Union side has such experience," he said.

As the Ukrainian News agency reported, earlier today, on November 17, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that yesterday as a result of sabotage the railway was damaged.

Tusk later posted a video on his X (Twitter) account showing the site of the explosion on the railroad.
