Railroad section on Dęblin-Warsaw route damaged in Poland, authorities do not rule out sabotage

On Sunday, November 16, the Dęblin-Warsaw railroad service experienced a malfunction: track damage was recorded, which led to a complete halt in train traffic. At the same time, the Polish authorities are officially considering the version that the incident could have been a sabotage.  Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced this on X.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk commented on the incident, saying that the authorities are considering the possibility of sabotage.

"I am in constant contact with the Minister of the Interior regarding the destruction of a section of track on the Demplin-Warsaw route. We may be dealing with an act of sabotage. No one was injured. The relevant services are investigating," Tusk wrote.

The Masovian Voivodeship police provided updated information about the location of the incident. The damage to the track was discovered by the train driver near the village of Życzyn, which is located near the Mika railway station.

"At the time of the incident, there were two passengers and several members of the staff on the train. No one was injured. Relevant services, including police officers, were immediately sent to the scene. A preliminary inspection showed damage to a part of the track, which caused the train to stop," the police said.

Specialists are currently actively working on the damaged section of the railway to restore it. Information on changes in the train schedule and possible delays is being clarified and will be provided to passengers in the near future.

We will remind, earlier the Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk announced the detention of eight people who made acts of sabotage. There are Ukrainians among them.
