The first results of the audit of the national nuclear power generating company Energoatom are due in December. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
Svyridenko said that she had discussed the state financial control of state-owned enterprises in the energy sector with the head of the State Audit Service, Alla Basalaeva.
"The audit of NNEGC Energoatom has already begun, this is the main priority. The State Audit Service will check the activities of the company's management apparatus, 10 of its branches, including three nuclear power plants, for 2023-2025. We agreed that the interim results of the audit should be ready in December. The audit materials will be sent to law enforcement and anti-corruption authorities for an appropriate response," she said.
According to her, the preparation of audits at other enterprises has begun in parallel: GTS Operator of Ukraine LLC, PJSC Centrenergo, and JSC UkrGasVydobuvannya.
"The Government expects regular reports on the progress of all audits on a monthly basis throughout the entire period. We will act promptly if violations are detected. We must ensure full transparency of state-owned enterprises," Svyrydenko said.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on Monday, Svyrydenko said that amid the corruption scandal in the energy sector, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a plan of actions to renew the composition of supervisory boards and executive bodies of state-owned companies in the fuel and energy sector.
On November 12, the Ministry of Economy announced that the State Audit Service has launched a comprehensive audit of the national nuclear power generating company Energoatom.
