Svyrydenko submits motion to dismiss Halushchenko and Hrynchuk to Rada

Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko has submitted a motion to the Verkhovna Rada to dismiss Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko and Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk. Svyrydenko announced this on her Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

"I have submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a motion to dismiss Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko and Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk," she said.

Svyrydenko noted that the ministers had submitted their applications in the manner prescribed by law.

In turn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk said on his Facebook page that the Verkhovna Rada had received submissions from Svyrydenko on dismissal of Hrynchuk and Halushchenko, and the parliament would consider these issues in the near future in accordance with the established procedure

Yaroslav Zhelezniak, a Member of Parliament from the Holos faction, said on his Telegram channel that the dismissal of the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Energy is the first item on the agenda of the November 18 Rada meeting.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said amid the corruption scandal in the energy sector that the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Energy should be dismissed and asked the Prime Minister to submit their applications immediately.

On November 10, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) announced that they were conducting a large-scale operation to expose corruption in the energy sector.

On the morning of November 10, NABU detectives came to the house of a businessman, co-owner of the Kvartal 95 studio Tymur Mindich, they also searched the offices of Justice Minister Herman Halushchenko and Energoatom.
