Peace talks with russia ended this year with virtually no result, which led to a decision to terminate them.
First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Serhii Kyslytsia reported this in a comment to The Times.
"Since this year's peace talks ended with little progress, they have now been suspended," Kyslytsia said.
According to Kyslytsia, the lack of any progress in the talks did not come as a surprise to him. The diplomat explained that "in a dictatorship, it is impossible to have creative discussions with negotiating teams that represent the dictator."
He added that the negotiations were not going to be successful.
He also added that since the summer, Ukraine's efforts have been focused on activating international partners to encourage russian dictator vladimir putin to meet directly with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Earlier, Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is open to a diplomatic way to end the war, including a ceasefire and negotiations, but categorically rejects any conditions requiring territorial concessions or "donations" of Ukrainian land to the aggressor country.
Also earlier, Zelenskyy denied rumors about a "12-point peace plan" and explained the terms of the negotiations.
