The PURL mechanism, created for the operational purchase of American weapons for the Ukrainian army, continues to function stably, despite internal political processes in the United States (in particular, the shutdown). This was reported by a NATO representative, quoted by Suspilne.
As noted, this supply channel remains open, and new batches of necessary equipment are already arriving in Ukraine, providing the Ukrainian Armed Forces with the necessary resources.
He noted that the allies continue to finance new supplies for Ukraine and are preparing "additional commitments".
"The first four packages worth about USD 2 billion were paid by the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany and Canada during August," the journalists' sources noted.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal, following the 31st meeting of the Contact Group on Defense Issues in Ukraine (Ramstein) on October 15 in Brussels (Belgium), announced that new contributions to the PURL initiative amounted to USD 422 million, and purchases from the Ukrainian defense-industrial complex amounted to more than USD 715 million.
The Priority Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) provides important American equipment, financed by European allies and Canada. The Alliance coordinates the delivery through the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU). Military supplies include air defense systems, shells and other necessary equipment.
