US President Donald Trump said that russian dictator vladimir putin asked him to help end the war against Ukraine, which has been going on for ten years.
Trump said this in his speech at the American Business Forum in Miami.
The conversation between the leaders took place two weeks ago by phone.
"I spoketo him [Putin] two weeks ago, and he said, 'We've been trying to settle that war for 10 years. We weren't able to do it. You got to settle'," the US president said.
Trump also noted that in the past he had managed to resolve similar issues very quickly - "some even in an hour" - and without the involvement of the UN.
Trump said that he could achieve the end of the war between russia and Ukraine in a couple of months.
