Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Bochorishvili said that Ukraine allegedly opposed granting Tbilisi the status of a candidate for EU membership. According to her, Georgia's European integration was "accompanied by a negative attitude" from Kyiv. It was reported by Georgia Online.

She accused Ukraine of opposing Tbilisi's European path and criticized the European Commission's report for "distorting the facts."

Bochorishvili said that Georgia demonstrated political support for Kyiv, but refused to join sanctions against russia for security reasons.

"No one wants to enter into a confrontation and create additional security challenges," the foreign minister explained.
