President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law that gives critical defense industry enterprises the right to book people who do not have proper military registration documents for 45 days. This is stated on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
The corresponding draft law, No. 13335 "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on the Organization of Labor Relations under Martial Law", adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on October 9, was returned on October 31 with the signature of the President.
The law comes into force one month after the day following its publication. The Cabinet of Ministers has been instructed to bring its regulations in line with this law within one month of its publication.
The main provisions of the act relate to the booking of employees of defense industry enterprises, even if they have problems with military registration. Such a booking is valid only once a year and does not exempt from liability. The maximum probationary period is set at 45 days for employment at defense companies. The employer has the right to dismiss an employee if he or she fails to eliminate violations of military registration in time.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 9, the Verkhovna Rada gave critical defense companies the right to book people who have improperly executed military registration documents for 45 days.
Director of the Ukrainian Defense Industry Joint Stock Company (Ukroboronprom) Herman Smetanin noted that this decision will allow to officially hire a person and give him or her the opportunity to resolve the issue with documents. According to him, there are currently more than 1,400 vacancies at Ukroboronprom enterprises, and the adoption of the bill will allow the defense industry to fill the personnel reserve faster, including by attracting Ukrainians who have left the country.
In May, the Cabinet of Ministers allowed booking 100% of employees of enterprises critical to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
