The Verkhovna Rada has granted critical defense industry enterprises the right to book people with improper military registration documents for 45 days. Oleksii Honcharenko, a member of the Rada from the European Solidarity faction, has announced this on his Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"The Rada gives critical enterprises the right to book people who have improperly executed accounting documents for 45 days. That is, all employees of critical enterprises, as well as enterprises of the defense industry, who are liable for military service, who do not have or have improperly executed military registration documents, or are not registered with the military, or have not updated their personal data, are subject to booking," he said.
A total of 272 MPs voted in favor of the relevant draft law, No. 13335, with the minimum required 226.
Such a booking is valid only once a year and does not exempt from liability, the employer has the right to dismiss the employee if he or she fails to eliminate violations of military registration in time.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on September 3, the Rada supported this draft law in the first reading.
Director of the Ukrainian Defense Industry Joint Stock Company (Ukroboronprom) Herman Smetanin noted that this decision will allow to officially hire a person and give him or her the opportunity to resolve the issue of documents. According to him, there are currently more than 1,400 vacancies at Ukroboronprom enterprises, and the adoption of the bill will allow the defense industry to fill the personnel reserve faster, including by attracting Ukrainians who have left the country.
In May, the Cabinet of Ministers allowed booking 100% of employees of enterprises critical to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
