Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that the European Union countries could buy Serbian ammunition and then transfer it to Ukraine. He said this in an interview with the German edition of Cicero.
"Our warehouses are full of ammunition... We produce more ammunition than France. I don't want to be seen as someone who is constantly supplying ammunition to the warring parties, but Europe needs ammunition," Vučić said.
According to him, he proposed that EU countries sign ammunition purchase agreements and "take everything we have." Vučić believes that this could be a phenomenal contribution of Serbia to European defense.
Asked whether the ammunition could be used in Ukraine, Vučić said that the buyers "can do whatever they want with it."
"We just need a long-term contract so that we can plan. I have always said that Serbia is a militarily neutral country. But we are absolutely ready to cooperate with European armies," the Serbian leader added.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in May this year, the Foreign Intelligence Service (FIS) of the aggressor country russia accused Serbia of supplying ammunition for the needs of the Ukrainian army.
Recall that in June 2024, the russian edition of Kommersant wrote, citing its own sources, that Serbian defense enterprises work in three shifts, producing weapons and ammunition for export, including to Ukraine.
