As of October 28, 2025, Ukrainian farmers sowed 5.3 million hectares of winter crops, which is 7% less than last year (as of October 29, 2024 - 5.7 million hectares).
This is stated in a message from the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
The message says that this is 82.0% of the projected areas.
In particular, the following were sown: winter wheat - 3,858,100 hectares; winter barley – 382,200 hectares and winter rye – 63,200 hectares.
Among the leaders in grain crops are the Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv and Kirovohrad Regions.
The Poltava, Ternopil and Chernihiv Regions have already completed sowing.
Winter rapeseed has been sown on 1,045,400 hectares.
Most of all in the Vinnytsia, Odesa and Khmelnytskyi regions.
Farmers in 14 regions have completed sowing winter rapeseed.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, as of October 21, 2025, Ukrainian farmers had sown 4,833,900 hectares of winter crops.
