The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated an additional UAH 2 billion to the Ministry of Defense to finance the "Bonus Drone Army" project. Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.
"At today's meeting, the government supported the proposal of the Ministry of Defense to redirect the remaining funds of the Ministry of Strategic Industries to strengthen the financing of the "Bonus Drone Army" project," he said.
The "Bonus Drone Army" project is a system of motivation and accumulation of points for military units for verified destruction of enemy targets, also known as "e-points".
Shmyhal noted that thanks to this initiative, military units can accumulate points for destroying enemy targets, and then order UAVs and electronic warfare equipment of Ukrainian production on the Brave1 Market platform and receive them through the DOT-Chain Defence digital system.
The Ministry of Defense reported that the source of these funds was the remaining part of the "military tax" (tax on income of individuals from the monetary support of military personnel, police officers, and rank-and-file and command personnel), which was formed as of January 1, 2025 and was not used by the Ministry of Strategic Industries.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, the Ministry of Defense is deploying a new digital military accounting system, "Impulse."
In July, the Cabinet of Ministers merged the Ministry of Strategic Industries into the Ministry of Defense.
