After a long period of stagnation, which was observed on the Ukrainian market since the beginning of autumn, today the selling prices for carrots have begun to increase.
This is stated in the report of the EastFruit project, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
At the moment, producers are offering these root vegetables for sale on average 12% more expensive than at the end of the last working week, namely UAH 7-13 per kilogram, depending on the quality and volume of the batches offered.

The report says that, according to key market players, the increase in carrot prices is facilitated by a noticeable increase in trading activity in this segment.
At the same time, most farms have suspended the sale of high-quality root vegetables in anticipation of an even greater increase in prices and have put the main volume of the harvest into storage.
They are offering only surpluses for sale, as a result of which the supply of carrots on the market has slightly decreased.
But, despite the price increase, today carrots in Ukraine are offered for sale on average 54% cheaper than in the same period last year.
It is noted that market participants do not exclude that the trend of price increases may be a temporary phenomenon.
In their opinion, further price increases may motivate farmers to start selling carrots from storage, which will lead to an increase in supply and, as a result, to a decrease in prices.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, tomato prices have been rising in Ukraine for the third week in a row.
