On the night of October 29, the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit two oil refineries involved in supplying the aggressor country's army - Novospassky and Mariysky. In addition, the Budyonovsk gas processing plant was hit. Explosions and fires were recorded on the territory of the enterprises.
It was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Novospassky Oil Refinery in the village of Novospasskoye, Ulyanovsk Oblast of the russian federation, was hit. It is a part of the Prominvest holding, the main activity is the primary processing of hydrocarbons. The refinery's annual refining capacity is 600,000 tons of oil (0.2% of total russian refining). The plant produces gasoline, diesel fuel and fuel oil. It provides fuel for domestic consumption in russia and exports petroleum products.
The Mariysky Oil Refinery in Tabashino, Republic of Mari El (a subject of the russian federation), was also affected. Explosions and a fire were reported at the facility. The refinery meets the domestic needs of the Volga Federal District. The design processing capacity is 1.3 million tons per year, which is 0.5% of the total processing in russia. It has two primary oil processing units and a vacuum fuel oil processing unit.
The results of the missions and the extent of the damage are currently being clarified.
In addition, domestic strike drones struck the Budyonovsk gas processing plant in the city of Budyonovsk, Stavropol Krai, russia. A hit was recorded on the GPU-1 production unit. The design processing capacity of this GPP is 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It supplies gas to a number of enterprises in the region and is a source of raw materials for the petrochemical industry.
"Disabling the capacities of these enterprises on the territory of the Russian Federation reduces the capabilities of the Russian army in conducting hostilities," the General Staff emphasized.
Recall, on October 17, the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine struck with attack drones the oil depot in Hvardiiske and the State Enterprise Hvardiiskyi in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
On the night of October 16, the Ukrainian Defense Forces again struck the Saratov Oil Refinery, which is involved in meeting the needs of the russian armed forces.
