The statements of the russian occupiers about the alleged encirclement of Kupiansk, Kharkiv Region, are not true. The enemy is present in the northern part of the city.

The spokesman of the Joint Forces Communications Department Viktor Trehubov said this on the air of the telethon.

According to him, the russians continue to use the tactics of small infantry groups. They are trying to get closer to the positions of the Ukrainian military, clinging to certain buildings. When the occupiers gather in large numbers, they try to make their way further. Such groups are supplied by UAVs

Tregubov also added that the Russians are bypassing Kupyansk on the one hand and breaking into the central part of the city on the other

He emphasized that the Russians' statements about the encirclement of the city are not true, while acknowledging that technically it is true. The fiber-optic drones can cover up to 40 kilometers of territory, which allows them to hit the logistics routes of the Ukrainian military

"Their fellow citizens have already started asking them if the city is surrounded, how is the Ukrainian defense still going on there? After that, the Russians began to say that "we don't mean direct encirclement, we mean that we can hit Ukrainian logistics with drones," Tregubov said

As Ukrainian News reported, the day before, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov announced the encirclement of Kupyansk and Pokrovsk in Donetsk region. He made the statement during a report to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin

After that, Russian military bloggers criticized Gerasymov, as his words about the encirclement of both cities do not correspond to reality.
