Members of the supervisory board elected Gepard Hafer as chairman of the supervisory board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia. Serhii Leshchenko as deputy.
This was reported by the press service of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.
"Members of the supervisory board of JSC Ukrzaliznytsia at their first meeting in October 2025 elected Gepard Hafer as chairman," the message says.
It is noted that the deputy chairman of the supervisory board was politician and journalist, former MP of Ukraine Serhii Leshchenko.
Gepard Hafer is a scientist and logistics expert, former chairman of the supervisory board of Ukrzaliznytsia, has experience working at Deutsche Bahn.
The University of Applied Sciences in Berlin states that Hafer is a professor of logistics and supply chain management and was the rector of the university from 2012 to 2024. In addition, from 2007 to 2012, he was the Director for Central and Eastern Europe at Deutsche Bahn AG.
Ukrzaliznytsia recalled that on October 1, 2025, the Government approved the new composition of the supervisory board - its independent members were selected based on the results of an open competition organized and conducted by the Committee for the Appointment of Heads of Enterprises Important for the Economy with the participation of an international executive search company.
The supervisory board includes four independent members and three representatives of the state.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the Cabinet of Ministers partially updated the composition of the supervisory board of Ukrzaliznytsia and, among other things, reappointed Serhii Leshchenko to the board as a representative of the state.
