One of the largest russian oil companies, Lukoil, announced its intention to sell its international assets against the backdrop of new sanctions that the US had imposed on the aggressor country of russia the day before.
This was stated in the company's press release, which was published on October 27.
"In connection with the introduction of restrictive measures by some states against the company and its subsidiaries, the company announces its intention to sell its international assets," Lukoil reported.
The company added that it had begun considering applications from potential buyers.
The sale of foreign assets will be carried out in accordance with a license from the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 22, the US Department of the Treasury announced the introduction of new sanctions against russia. The restrictions include Rosneft and Lukoil, as well as their 34 subsidiaries.
As a reminder, on October 25, Reuters reported, citing its own sources, that the US presidential administration had prepared additional sanctions against the russian federation. They could be imposed against key sectors of the russian economy.
