Orban calls US sanctions against russia mistake. Because of them, energy prices expected to rise in Hungary

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban called the latest US sanctions against the aggressor country of russia a mistake. He complained that they could lead to an energy shortage in his country.

Orban made the corresponding statement in an interview with the Italian publication La Reppubblica.

According to him, US sanctions against russian oil companies have created a difficult situation for Hungary, which is very dependent on russian oil. He added that the sanctions will cause energy prices in his country to "skyrocket".

"We are thinking about how to build a sustainable system for my country's economy," Orban said.

He was asked whether US President Donald Trump made a mistake by deciding on new sanctions against russia. Orban replied that he had. He promised to find a way out for Hungary.

As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 22, the US Department of the Treasury announced new sanctions against russia. The restrictions were imposed against russian oil giants Rosneft and Lukoil, as well as their 34 subsidiaries.

Recall, russian dictator vladimir putin said that russia has immunity from sanctions. This is how he commented on the new restrictions from the US.

US President Trump then said that he was glad that putin thinks so, but called for a six-month wait to see the real effect of the sanctions.
