International partners are delaying the financing necessary for the production of Ukrainian cruise missiles Flamingo. This was announced by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy in a telephone conversation with TSN TV presenter Alla Mazur.
She said that during a telephone conversation with Zelenskyy, she asked about the possibility of scaling up the production of Flamingo, since this requires financing.
"There was a technological problem at the production of Flamingo. There is a delay in financing from partners, which is being resolved," the President replied.
He assured that the state order would be fully fulfilled by the end of the year.
"Ukraine has found its own resources to pay for it and will have a certain number of missiles, which is not disclosed. Moreover, everyone is satisfied with how the missiles that have already flown worked," Zelenskyy noted in the conversation.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) has denied media reports about an alleged investigation into the Flamingo cruise missile, which is manufactured by Fire Point. The bureau stressed that the inspection, if it is being conducted, does not concern this weapon.
On August 17, Ukrainian photojournalist for The Associated Press Yefrem Lukatskyi said that Ukraine has launched a serial production of new Flamingo cruise missiles with a range of up to 3,000 kilometers.
On August 18, Fire Point showed the first tests of the Ukrainian Flamingo missile.
