Albania's Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that the artificial intelligence-created virtual minister Diella is "pregnant" with 83 digital assistants that will soon help the country's parliamentarians.
This is reported by Shqiptarja.
These "83 children of Diella" will become personal assistants for MPs - they will monitor the progress of meetings, take notes, prepare proposals and even inform parliamentarians about the mention of their names during debates.
"[For example], you went to get coffee and forgot to come back to work. When you return, this child will tell you what was talked about while you were away, whether your name was mentioned, and whether you need to counterattack the person who mentioned you for negative reasons," the Prime Minister explained.
What is known about artificial intelligence in the Albanian government and who is Diella
In September 2025, Albania became the first country to officially appoint a virtual minister. Diella, whose name translates as "sun", is responsible for public procurement.
Artificial intelligence is expected to become a key tool in the fight against corruption and increasing transparency - one of the requirements for Albania's accession to the EU. AI is already being used to monitor public procurement, tax and customs operations, as well as control construction, beaches and illegal plantations.
In addition, the authorities plan to use AI to control traffic, health care, education and digital identification of citizens.
Recall that artificial intelligence creates the risk of the so-called "jobless recovery" - the recovery of the economy without the restoration of employment. Office workers who perform "non-routine cognitive tasks" may suffer the most from this.
