The Zaporizhzhia NPP has come out of the longest blackout, as the repair of the 750 kV Dniprovska power line has been completed and external power supply has been restored. Today, October 23, Energy Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk reported this on Facebook.

Power engineers have reportedly restored power to the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.

"This made it possible to bring the station out of the full mode - the 10th blackout - in which it has been over the past month," she wrote.

The safety of Europe's largest Zaporizhzhia NPP during the blackout was maintained exclusively at the expense of emergency diesel generators, which created an unprecedented threat to nuclear and radiation safety for the whole of Europe, the Energy Minister recalled.

The reason for the month-long blackout was the actions of the russian occupation forces, which systematically shell and damage the power lines connecting Zaporizhzhia NPP to the integrated power system of Ukraine.

The 330 kV Ferrosplavna line, the second transmission line that has been supplying power to the plant since its occupation, is currently being repaired.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian energy workers have restored power lines to the Zaporizhzhia NPP 42 times.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 9, Grossi said that the process of connecting two power lines had begun at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.

On October 2, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that the aggressor country russia is preparing to connect the temporarily occupied Zaporizhzhia NPP to its power system, which increases the risk of nuclear incidents.

As a reminder, on September 23, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine announced a blackout at the Zaporizhzhia NPP.
