The Deposit Guarantee Fund has won an appeal against its claim against related parties of PJSC Finbank in the amount of UAH 142.3 million.
The corresponding decision in favor of the Fund was made on October 14, 2025 by the South-Western Economic Court of Appeal in case No. 910/13325/21, the Ukrainian News reports.
During the liquidation of the bank, it was found that the bank had been engaged in "scheme" lending before the start of its withdrawal from the market: almost 95% of the loan portfolio of legal entities was issued to persons related to the bank; almost all of them were unsecured or with illiquid collateral.
Since the bank was declared insolvent, the borrowers have not serviced their loans.
This week, on October 20-24, courts of various instances will consider the claims of the Deposit Guarantee Fund against related parties and owners of 17 banks that are being withdrawn from the market.
These are lawsuits in both commercial and criminal proceedings.
In particular, the Supreme Court, namely the Commercial Court of Cassation as part of the Supreme Court, will begin consideration of case No. 910/8222/20 - a claim of the Deposit Guarantee Fund against related parties of JSC Fortuna Bank for UAH 25 million.
The Fund appeals the decisions of the courts of previous instances to refuse to satisfy the claim in the highest court.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, in January-September 2025, the Deposit Guarantee Fund paid UAH 239.8 million in compensation to depositors of banks being withdrawn from the market.
