Bulgaria is ready to open its airspace to the plane of russian dictator vladimir putin so that he can fly to Budapest to meet with US President Donald Trump.
Bulgarian Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev has stated this, as quoted by BNR.
"When efforts are made to achieve peace, if a meeting is a condition for this, it is most logical that such a meeting is organized by all possible means," Georgiev said.
When asked whether this means that our country will provide a corridor, the minister answered succinctly, asking:
"And how is it proposed to hold a meeting if one of the participants cannot come to it," Georgiev replied.
As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, on October 16, US President Donald Trump said he had a phone conversation with russian dictator putin. They agreed to hold a meeting in Budapest.
On the same day, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Budapest was ready to organize a meeting between Trump and putin.
As a reminder, due to European sanctions, putin's plane is likely to be forced to make a detour and fly to Hungary via Iran, Turkey, Montenegro and Serbia.
