A complete gas shutdown in Ukraine is impossible, only in certain regions of Ukraine there may be temporary restrictions on gas pressure, but they will apply exclusively to industry, believes Oleksii Kucherenko, MP from the Batkivshchyna faction, deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada committee on energy and housing and communal services.
He said this in a flash interview with Telegraf, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
When asked whether there will be gas shutdowns during the heating season, Kucherenko replied that there cannot be such a thing as no gas at all.
"There may be pressure restrictions in certain regions during certain periods, and then they will restrict someone. But I think that this is industry, as always, and it will not reach the population. Therefore, I would not scare you with this gas collapse now," the MP warned.
Kucherenko said that he recently listened to an interview with Kobolev (Andrii Kobolev, former chairman of the board of Naftogaz), and "even he" says that there can be no gas collapse.
The MP added that the problem is also money, because in winter gas can be purchased at a high price, so it was necessary to buy more in the summer.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, on October 15, the Naftogaz group stated that over the past seven days the enemy has carried out three massive attacks on gas infrastructure facilities.
Due to russian strikes, Ukraine will have to increase gas imports by 30%.
