Over the 9 months of this year, international non-resident companies that provide electronic services to individuals in the customs territory of Ukraine paid UAH 10.6 billion of the so-called "Google tax".
This was announced on her Facebook page by the Acting Head of the Tax Service Lesia Karnaukh, Ukrainian News Agency reports.
"We are recording positive dynamics compared to the corresponding period of 2024: the number of registered payers increased by 13 people, the amount of tax liabilities increased by UAH 2.5 billion," she added.
The largest payers this year: Apple, Google, Valve, Meta, Sony, Etsy, Netflix, Wargaming, Bolt, OpenAI, Ebay, etc.
In total, as of January 1, 2022, 141 VAT payers have been registered in Ukraine among non-residents who provide electronic services to individuals.
As Ukrainian News Agency earlier reported, the obligation to register arises if the total amount of supplies exceeds UAH 1 million in the last 12 months.
In 2024, international non-resident companies that provide electronic services to individuals in the customs territory of Ukraine declared over UAH 12.6 billion in tax liabilities ("Google tax").
In June 2021, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law introducing a "Google tax".
According to the law, foreign tech giants are required to pay 20% value added tax (VAT), like other businesses registered in Ukraine.
