Trump confirms meeting with Zelenskyy on Friday, October 17

US President Donald Trump said he plans to meet with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Friday, October 17.

He told reporters during a brief conversation aboard Air Force One, broadcast by the White House.

When asked if he would receive Zelenskyy at the White House this week, Trump answered briefly: "I think so. Yes" - and ended the conversation with the press.

Earlier, the Financial Times wrote that the American and Ukrainian Presidents are planning a personal meeting to discuss issues of weapons, air defense systems and diplomacy. It is precisely because of the complexity of these topics in a telephone format that the parties decided to hold live talks.

It is known that on October 11 and 12, two telephone conversations took place between Trump and Zelenskyy. The last time the Presidents met was on September 23 on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, after which Zelenskyy called their talks "productive".

As a reminder, Zelenskyy announced that the Ukrainian side will nominate US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize next year if he manages to stop russian dictator vladimir putin, bring him to the negotiating table, and stop the killings.
